  • A Socially-Conscious Approach to Learning

We are a Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) school that has joined the UN Global Impact, a group of schools from around the world who have formed a web community focused on important business issues. We promote these six principles.

  • Purpose

We will develop the capabilities of students to be future generators of sustainable value for business and society at large and to work for an inclusive and sustainable global economy.

  • Values

We will incorporate into our academic activities and curricula the values of global social responsibility as portrayed in international initiatives such as the United Nations Global Compact.

  • Method

We will create educational frameworks, materials, processes and environments that enable effective learning experiences for responsible leadership.

  • Research

We will engage in conceptual and empirical research that advances our understanding about the role, dynamics, and impact of corporations in the creation of sustainable social, environmental and economic value.

  • Partnership

We will interact with managers of business corporations to extend our knowledge of their challenges in meeting social and environmental responsibilities and to explore jointly effective approaches to meeting these challenges.

  • Dialogue

We will facilitate and support dialogue and debate among educators, students, business, government, consumers, media, civil society organizations and other interested groups and stakeholders on critical issues related to global social responsibility and sustainability.

Career Coaching

Our holistic approach to MBA education provides each student with three personal career-coaching sessions throughout the program with a faculty member and advisor. The first session occurs in the beginning of the program, the second half-way through and the third close to graduation.

These sessions focus on your career goals, on determining your purpose, your passions, your curiosity and your individual future intentions, not just in your career but in your life.

Flexibility To Meet Your Needs

Have a full-time job? No problem. Most of our students are full-time employees. Our goal is to provide MBA students with part-time and full-time options towards program completion. You can complete the MBA in three to six semesters. The evening MBA is designed for the convenience and flexibility of working professionals. Each course is delivered in eight-week sessions and courses take place one evening per week.

We are confident that your experience at Ursuline College will be both fulfilling and challenging. We welcome the opportunity to support you on your journey to achieve your professional career aspirations and your personal educational goals!

The MBA Program is approved by the Ohio Board of Regents and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

  • Joel Andexler - MBA

In 2000 after his band broke up, Joel Andexler ‘MBA, found himself, well, between rock and a hard place. “I had dabbled at college,” Joel said. “I started and stopped and wasn’t the most serious student. I knew I needed to shift career gears so I enrolled in a marketing course because I thought it sounded interesting.” He was right. The light bulb went off, and Joel wound up with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and a lucrative job in marketing.

Although Joel was making a name for himself, there was something that continued to elude him—and he intended to find it with more education. After looking into many schools offering MBA programs, it turned out he only had to visit one: Ursuline College.

Joel was struck by Ursuline’s campus, describing it as “the perfect place for a busy, working professional to engage in reflective thought and analysis.” He was amazed by the knowledge of “an exceptionally distinguished group of professors” whose industry assets and experience helped him apply their teachings to his career as a marketing professional and led him to seriously consider a career in higher education.

“Without question, enrolling at Ursuline was one of the best life decisions I have ever made as it helped me discover my real passion—teaching others,” Joel explained. This former rock and roll star now performs as an entrepreneur and educator—roles he may never have dreamed of had he not found his way thanks to Ursuline College.

  • Sharon Sammon - MBA

Defining her dreams came easy for Sharon Sammon, ‘(BA). Getting there has taken some interesting twists and turns. Thanks to challenging and fast-paced academic programs at Ursuline College and a supportive workplace, she is realizing her calling – and then some.

“I’d always wanted to be an art teacher—but wound up in management instead,” Sharon said. Receiving little encouragement to attend college, she entered the retail field after high school graduation. This path eventually led her through the doors of Sherwin Williams and into a satisfying career.

After many promotions, she had a chance at a marketing job. Despite her years of service and accomplishments, it was not to be. Sharon was told she’d need a degree to continue an upward trajectory in the company. “I was not going to get passed over for jobs I deserved, so it was time I pursued my degree,” she said. She took the challenge seriously and pursued her MBA at Ursuline College.

“Without the support and nurture that Ursuline provides to adult students, I wouldn’t have the education or the professional opportunities I have today,” said Sharon.

  • LaShawn Reed - MBA

While landing a responsible corporate job at KeyBank was no small feat for 19-year old LaShawn Reed, moving up the corporate ranks without a college degree proved an even greater challenge. Being talented and ambitious, LaShawn knew the next step in her career journey was completing a bachelor’s degree—but that still wasn’t enough.

“The master’s level classes I took at Ursuline College gave me a greater understanding of entrepreneurship and how to be successful in the business world,” said LaShawn. “More importantly, being at Ursuline intensified my desire to help people. It is a place that challenged me in the classroom and made me think about life on a deeper level.”

As a result, LaShawn successfully completed her MBA and started Essentials 4 Success—a consulting agency that educates and empowers women to pursue their own path to finding out who they are meant to be.
